AIMS

  1. Advance and defend the interest of workers in matters of mutual interest with employers
  2. Improve the standard of living of union members, workers, and the working class
  3. Promote and protect union members' and workers' employment and socio-economic rights and interests
  4. Defend and assist union members against unfair labor practices and dismissals
  5. Promote job security for union members by advocating for job creation programs and resisting dismissals for operational reasons
  6. Eradicate all forms of unfair discrimination in the workplace and society
  7. Build and maintain a democratic worker-controlled union based on principles of non-racialism, non-tribalism, non-sexism, non-homophobia, and non-xenophobia
  8. Promote democracy and worker control within the union by encouraging accountability and responsibility among members, shop stewards, officials, and office bearers.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Aim to organize all workers in related fields in Kenya
  2. Negotiate for just and proper rates of wages, working hours and other employment conditions
  3. Improve relations between employees and employers, and employees with each other
  4. Provide training facilities to members
  5. Seek legal advice and assistance for members when necessary
  6. Cooperate with similar organizations and affiliate with international or local organizations
  7. Provide material, social, educational, and welfare activities for members
  8. Collect and circulate information affecting the Union, and print relevant literature
  9. Provide benefits for members such as relief in sickness, accident, and funeral expenses
  10. Acquire and dispose of movable and immovable property and assets
